Galo Ginocchio, MSc

Galo holds a Master of Science in Community Health (Addictions and Mental Health), with a Collaborative Specialization in Addiction Studies, from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. He directs the University of Toronto's Sex, Gender, and Neuroscience Fellowship program, founded by the Einstein Lab of Cognitive Neuroscience, Gender, and Health, where he collaborates with post-doctoral fellows on research projects. As a mental health crisis first responder with 2-Spirited People of the 1st Nations, Galo leads trauma-informed, strengths-based, and gender-affirming care initiatives through the Toronto Community Crisis Service. Additionally, he works as a community health worker at Sherbourne Health’s Acute Respite Care unit, where he contributes to the development and implementation of national guidelines for gender-affirming respite care. His work focuses on community-based participatory methods, social medicine, social prescribing program development and evaluation, and positive psychology interventions to address burnout, compassion fatigue, and moral injury.
