Isabel Sternthal

Isabel Sternthal is an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto studying global health, English literature, and political science. In 2018, she co-founded the Canadian Youth Journalism Project, an NGO which provides journalism education to high school students across Canada. At the University of Toronto, she has conducted research on the development of 2SLGBTQ+ inclusive cancer care as part of a Laidlaw scholarship and worked as a research assistant in the Cowen lab, which studies fungal infectious disease. She is currently working as a research assistant in the SSHINE Lab, which studies stigma in the context of global health, and at Maggie’s Barts, a cancer support center in London, UK. Isabel is the outgoing co-lead of a U of T discussion group that tackles contemporary issues and a weekly volunteer at the Hassle Free Women/Trans Clinic. She is passionate about the provision of value-driven, equitable healthcare.
