Olivia Ansley-Engel, PhD Candidate

Liv Engel (she/her) is a PhD student at the University of Toronto (PI: Dr. Robert Rozeske). Her work focuses on uncovering the neural mechanisms of fear and anxiety behaviours through a multidisciplinary approach, including rodent behaviour models and in vivo neuronal activity recording, with a specific focus on dopaminergic signaling in the medial prefrontal cortex. She is a Wilfred and Joyce Posluns fellow and is passionate about examining sex differences in her work as this has been historically under looked in the neuroscience field. Liv is also committed to inclusive science communication practices and social justice.
