At the meeting, the oral presentations of each finalist will be evaluated, and the highest-ranked presentation will receive a Best Trainee Oral Presentation Award and a 250 CAD monetary prize.

We recognize that marginalized trainees face systemic barriers in academia, and that the cancellation of many academic conferences throughout the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in the loss of opportunities for trainees to present their work, exacerbating these inequities. Therefore, priority for the CIHR-IGH Trainee Oral Presentation Competition will be given to trainees that self-identify with at least one of the following groups: gender minority (transgender, non-binary, genderqueer and/or gender non-conforming), member of an LGBTQIA/2S community, Black, Indigenous, person marginalized by racism, person whose first language is not English, person with a disability and/or person who lives in a remote location.

To be considered for the CIHR-IGH Trainee Oral Presentation Competition, please indicate your interest in the abstract submission form.
